You may remember this fantastic couple from their Unity Village engagement session [here.]
Sarah and Josh’s day was a perfect example of Missouri’s old adage, ‘If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute!’ And though it was a bit more on the rainy side than we’d hoped prior to the ceremony, Mother Nature was kind enough to give us a lovely window of outside time right before the reception. WHEW.
Aside from the rain, it was a beautiful day. Sarah and josh are stunners and their elegant blues and whites filled the open hall quite lushly.
Take a look!

A ‘Say Anything’ style first glance (sans Peter Gabriel). SO cute!

I always feel so bad telling people they can’t watch the first glance because it’s just for the couple, but how would cute things like peek-a-boo bridesmaids happen if I didn’t??

Rushing to get back inside between downpours….

Sorry guys, but this is just too cute not to post.

.

I’m not sure how this ended up happening….I’m also not sure how I could have avoided posting it. HILARIOUS.

Sarah and Josh – You guys are so cute! It means so much that you picked me to share in your day and I hope you have a long and sweet marriage.

I am SO excited for this trip! Of course it will be a blast checking out some of my favorite bands but OMG, my husband’s band Skybox is playing!!! It’s surreal! So….., this means that I will be away from the studio from today Aug 4th to Monday Aug 9th, but I will be back in full swing (or maybe my head will still be in the clouds…oh well) and ready to tackle my inbox.
Have a great weekend and feel free to click on the image below. Even if you won’t be at Lolla, you can at least give Skybox a listen! Your ears will thank you.

The Location: Prairie Production – Chicago, IL

Diana and Matt found me through one of my favorite couples from 2008, Brianne & Collin, so I was definitely excited when they decided to hire me. Like the 08′ wedding, their wedding was as laid back as they come and definitely utilized the cool contemporary feel of Prairie Production.
One of my favorite thing about Diana and Matt’s wedding, as well as so many of my Chicago weddings, is how diverse the families are. Many of Diana’s family came all the way from Brazil! I learned that it is Brazilian tradition for the bride to be late to her own ceremony, but we managed to keep right on schedule…

Love this one….

Tim: “You’re in Jail!” Kids: Aaagh!!”

All of the decor and planning was done by the extraordinary Diana! I have to hand it to her – planning and executing your own wedding is no small task and it looked so classy!

The centerpieces were melted vinyl records formed into bowls. I wanted to take one home…

Adorable blue flower ring, Meet delicious white cake…

The band that performed the song for their first dance is actually good friends with Diana & Matt – the singer has a great voice!

This shot scared the bajeebus out of them…such good sports.

Diana, you designed a beautiful day and I am so happy I was able to share it with you! Matt, I could tell how badly you wanted everything to be perfect which shows just how much you love your beautiful new wife. Congratulations to you both!!

The Ceremony: Pilgrim Chapel – Kansas City, MO
The Reception: Arts Incubator – Kansas City, MO

I think the thing that I enjoyed the most about Jenny and Kelly’s wedding is that the day just kind of whimsically flowed. Even when we weren’t quite in step with the timeline they just laughed and enjoyed their day.
And now, meet Charlie – he was the ring bearer…sort of.

Just minutes before the ceremony, we heard Jenny yell, ‘We’re ready!’ and everyone started laughing…including me.

Pretty sure she was under 21…..

My, wherever did you get such wonderful engagement photos? Lol.

This one is called: ‘EW! They are about to kiss!!’

Jenny and Kelly – You two are so much fun. It’s hard not to be happy for a couple that makes you giggle so much. From beginning to end you were so sweet and carefree…a dream to work for. It’s so unfair calling what I do ‘work’ and it’s because of people like you! Have fun together!
